Rememberance Parade
All three cadet services were represented at a Remembrance Day Parade and Service in Tewkesbury on Sunday 14 November 2010.
Cadets from 785 Tewkesbury Sqn joined Cadets from the local ACF and Sea Cadet Units to march through the town, alongside Veterans, local Dignitaries and members of the public.
Cadet Daniel Blyth performed a reading during the Civic Service of Remembrance at Tewksbury Abbey. The Service was followed by a procession to the Cross where the Act of Remembrance took place.
Plt Off Jonathan Cater was later presented with the Mayors Shield, for the best uniformed youth group present at the parade.
Over a weekend in September 2010, 785 Tewkesbury Sqn ran a leadership weekend for all current cadet NCO’s, and those with ambitions to become a cadet NCO on the Sqn.
Training Officer CI David Brown devised a gruelling weekend schedule aimed at developing each individual in leadership skills, teamwork and personal standards. The programme included a series of uniform inspections, drill sessions and leadership exercises.
Mr Brown later said
The weekend training resulted in a final individual debrief for each attending cadet. The programme cumulated in a final parade and presentation, during which the cadets were praised for their efforts and achievements over the course of the training, and given the chance to display their newly honed drill skills. Officer in Charge, Pilot Officer Jonathan Carter said
